Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how GetEducated.ai Inc. (“GetEducated.ai,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, join the Academy or community, purchase a digital offering, contact us about a project, or use our professional AI development and related services.

A separate project contract, data processing agreement, or client instruction may impose additional privacy and security requirements for professional services. Where those terms conflict with this Policy, they govern the applicable project to the extent permitted by law.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact and account information: Your name, email address, business details, login credentials, and account preferences.
  • Billing information: Transaction, invoice, billing address, and payment-status information. Payment card details may be collected and processed by our payment provider rather than stored by us.
  • Academy and community activity: Course progress, registrations, attendance, submissions, community posts, messages, and feature usage.
  • Project inquiry and discovery information: The business goals, requirements, budgets, timelines, stakeholders, workflows, and materials you provide when discussing a potential project.
  • Client and project data: Content, documents, datasets, instructions, system information, access details, test data, prompts, outputs, and other information made available to us to perform professional services.
  • Communications: Emails, support requests, meeting notes, feedback, approvals, and other correspondence.
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referral source, pages visited, and interaction data collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Please do not provide sensitive personal information or production credentials unless we have requested them and agreed on an appropriate method for handling them.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website, Academy, community, and digital offerings
  • Evaluate inquiries, conduct discovery, prepare proposals, and enter into project agreements
  • Design, build, test, integrate, deploy, support, and improve client projects
  • Process payments, administer subscriptions and contracts, and maintain business records
  • Communicate about accounts, projects, approvals, support, security, and service updates
  • Personalize learning experiences and understand how our offerings are used
  • Send marketing communications where permitted; you may unsubscribe at any time
  • Prevent fraud, investigate misuse, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal obligations

3. Client Data in Professional Services

When we process personal information on behalf of a client as part of a project, the client generally determines why that information is processed and is responsible for having the necessary authority to provide it to us. We use that information only to perform the project, follow documented instructions, secure and support the resulting system, and meet legal obligations.

The applicable Project Agreement or data processing agreement may define permitted uses, access controls, retention, deletion, security measures, incident procedures, and approved subcontractors in greater detail.

4. AI Tools & Automated Systems

Our professional services may involve AI models, automation platforms, cloud infrastructure, and other technology providers. Where project information is processed through these tools, we seek to minimize the data used, limit access, and select terms and configurations appropriate to the project and the sensitivity of the information.

We do not use client confidential information or personal information to train our own general-purpose AI models unless the client has expressly agreed in writing. Any project-specific restrictions on AI tools, model providers, data residency, or model training must be documented in the applicable Project Agreement.

5. When We Disclose Information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to:

  • Service providers and subcontractors: Providers that support hosting, payments, analytics, communications, project delivery, AI functionality, security, and professional operations, subject to appropriate contractual or confidentiality obligations.
  • Clients and authorized project participants: Where needed to deliver a project or follow the client's instructions.
  • Professional advisers: Lawyers, accountants, insurers, and other advisers where reasonably necessary.
  • Legal and safety recipients: Government, law-enforcement, regulatory, or other parties where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Transaction parties: A prospective or actual buyer, investor, lender, or successor in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate protections.

6. International & Cross-Border Processing

Our service providers, subcontractors, and technology platforms may process information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions. Information processed outside your jurisdiction may be subject to the laws and lawful-access rules of that location. Project-specific data-location requirements must be agreed in writing before the project begins.

7. Cookies & Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, understand traffic, improve performance, and measure communications. You can control cookies through your browser or available consent controls. Disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.

8. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, the applicable Project Agreement, our legitimate business records, dispute resolution, security, and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by information type and project. When information is no longer required, we delete, destroy, or de-identify it using reasonable measures.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature and sensitivity of the information in our care. These may include access controls, encryption, confidentiality obligations, secure development practices, and vendor review. No system or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Choices & Rights

Subject to applicable law and any contractual restrictions, you may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent, unsubscribe from marketing, or ask a privacy question. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide a requested offering or service. If your information was provided to us by a client, we may direct your request to that client.

11. Children's Privacy

Our professional services are intended for businesses and adults. The Academy and community are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our offerings, service practices, vendors, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice where required for a material change.
